Player tracking that goes where the game goes.

Athena tracks position indoors and out, reports the speed and load numbers staff already work from, and adds what each leg is doing, which a unit worn on the torso has no way to measure.

What performance staff actually complain about

Indoor sessions

Satellite positioning needs a clear view of the sky, so the moment a squad moves under a roof the numbers thin out or stop altogether.

Getting the data out

Analysts describe sessions that need clipping by hand and exports that fail often enough to be worth running twice. A fair part of the morning goes before anyone looks at a chart.

The garment

The unit sits between the shoulder blades in something that has to be tight to stay put. Players tolerate it; few of them ask for it.

Why the calf is a better place to measure from

Position without satellites

Three access points around the venue are enough to fix every player on the field, and because none of it depends on satellites a roof makes no difference. The link runs on Wi-Fi HaLow, which was designed for range.

The leg, not the torso

From the calf you can measure the kick, the plant and the push-off, and see how the work is split between the two legs. None of that is visible from a sensor sitting between the shoulder blades.

Wearing it

It is compression gear of the kind athletes already train in, with the module tucked behind the calf and out of the way.

Fit

Each sleeve is built from a scan of that athlete, so it sits in the same place every session and the numbers stay comparable week to week.

One garment, two jobs

Athena is the session view of the sleeve. Ares is the medical one, and it reads the same sensors.

After the whistle

Already split into drills

Athena knows when the session started, when the drill changed and when a player walked off, so nobody has to find those edges by hand.

Getting it out

Flat files, a stable interface for analysts, or a direct feed into whichever athlete management system the club already runs.

Knowing when to doubt it

A dropped link or a flat battery is marked as exactly that, rather than quietly leaving a number that stopped updating.

What the medical staff get

The same sessions give Ares motion and muscle at the leg under real load, which is the record injury work is built on.
